Nguyen Huu Tuyen, general director of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture lately announced that from now up to the end of this year, the company would push up oil-pumping work for additional 300,000 tonnes, raising the whole-year oil-pumping volume to 6.5 million tonnes.

It is expected that Vietsovpetro will fulfil that production target by December 13, 2009.

The company is predicted to reach initial revenue of 3.19 billion dong, equivalent to 130.7 percent of the year plan, bringing in profit for Vietnamese party of $1.96 billion dong and Russian party of $427.5 million dong.

In addition, PetroVietnam's oil surveying works in 2009 have brought in positive results of increasing the oil reserve volume to over 18.5 million tonnes, about three times higher than previously proposed plan.
