As of January 1st 2004 there has been 340 science officers in all , out of which 243 is Vietnamese including of 2 Scientific Doctors, 2 MA degrees, 185 engineers with university & college qualificated and 24 technicians with  primary and mid -ranking. If compared with other world institutes, the Institute ‘s manpower is quite limited although  the number of scientists and qualified personnel is rather crowded. However, Institute ‘s scope of works is totally broad, from science research to project design. That is why the staff incur to work overtime for  months and several officers cannot have any on-leave permission or holidays as regulated. This is proofed bout their responsibilities  obligations and continuous trying their best for completion of tasks assigned by the Institute.

During carrying out researches and designs, the officers’ qualification is continuously upgraded . Therefore they can approach to the world advanced technical technologies . There are several Officers who has enough experiences and can undertake important positions such as the head of a scientific research topic, Design project Director, and key titles transferred by Russia. Despite the number is quite modest, it is very valuable and respectful because it is not simple at all to train a fully qualified officer with good personnel to become a manager or the head of a research department.

Strive for mastery of their qualification can be seen through their actively –participated postgraduate program. Up to now there are several officers participating in postgraduate in which 7 members has successfully protected their MSc thesis and one with PhD thesis.

Furthermore, the Institute has trained and built up some of qualified officers who are trusted by leaders and appointed to important positions in the Company or in other enterprises belonged to “Vietsovpetro”.
